Heritage
and Science Park is a star on any Phoenix top 10 list.
There is plenty to keep all ages interested and happy for
a few hours or a day. The Park contains three attractions:
the
Arizona Science Center, Historic
Heritage Square, and the Phoenix Museum
of History.
We suggest
starting at the Arizona Science Center (check "Directions")
for info on nearby parking). You become part of the action
at the Arizona Science Center while exploring the mysteries
of the universe through film and exhibits. This state of the
art Center invites adults and children of all ages to view
ants and atoms, volcanoes and rollercoasters, build a river,
and explore Mars. From the Dorrance
Planetarium to the 5-story giant
screen theater you are in for a memorable experience.
With over 300 hands-on opportunities there is something for
all scientists, young and old. When you need a break stop
by the food court for sandwiches, pizza, tacos and other goodies.
The Awesome Atom gift store is full of science-centered toys,
books and games designed to stimulate minds of all ages.
We enjoy
strolling Historic Heritage Square and imagining Phoenix’s
Victorian past. A tour of the authentically restored Rosson
House is a special treat. The Steven’s
House is a fun place to visit with its 1912 one room schoolhouse
and Arizona Doll and Toy Museum. Other historic homes on the
Square have found new life as restaurants and shops.
The nearby
Phoenix Museum of History is dedicated to preserving Phoenix’s
early and colorful history. Visitors are transported from
prehistory to pioneer days to present times through interactive
and educational exhibits. Watch for special seasonal entertainment
